Descend ~ Ascend ~ Transcend Soak up some of Outback Australia’s heritage and absorb the natural beauty of the Oxley Wild Rivers gorge or “Falls” country. See tiny native orchids growing in rocky crags and walk amongst ancient grass trees standing in families. Contemplate the many scenes they have witnessed throughout evolving times and changing seasons. Capture in your mind the beautifully agile Brush Tail Rock Wallabies that skirt the cliffs and rocky outcrops above Blue Mountain Creek whilst relaxing next to a crystal clear swimming hole at the campsite. Stretch out under the myriad of stars and go to sleep. Walk out up seven mile spur, a traditional aboriginal route used by the ancient land keepers for their migratory pathway from the coast to the highlands for summer hunting. Look back in awe at the depths and rugged ridgelines, just travelled. Take a walk in the wild………… Wild River Walks offer a selection of one or two day guided bushwalks (fully catered overnight camping), into and along the rim, of the rugged gorge country on the south-eastern escarpment of the New England Tablelands. Our guided walks are personally satisfying, offering a challenge to the heart and leg muscles, one walk descending approximately six hundred metres into the bottom of one of Australia’s deepest gorge systems. A wholesome, new experience…………… |
